Understanding Orto-K

Certain conditions, such as myopia and farsightedness, occur when the cornea of the affected eye is a slightly different shape than a cornea with normal vision. Normally, you would wear glasses or contacts, which compensate for the change in focus that result from the shape of the cornea. With Ortho-K, you wear a pair of contacts that are designed to add slight pressure to your eyeball to change its shape. The reshaping of the cornea results in improve near and far vision, depending on your condition. The effect is temporary, lasting no more than a couple of days.

Ortho-K is a beneficial treatment that can correct your vision if you’d like to eliminate glasses, contacts, or avoid surgical procedures like LASIK. It's also a great treatment for myopia control, as the lenses have been shown to slow the progression of the condition. However, it is important to note that you will have to wear Orth-K lenses nightly to achieve your desired results.
